Who we are

I am a qualified primary school teacher with a degree in Geography and Education, beginning my career in the early 2000s with a strong foundation in child development, learning, and inclusive practice.

Over the past decade, leading up to the end of 2024, I worked within a local authority supporting neurodivergent children and their families during times of crisis. My role focused on early intervention — working intensively with families at risk of escalation into social care services. Within a 16-week framework, I collaborated closely with parents, children, and multi-agency professionals to create highly personalised, practical strategies that truly worked for each individual family.

This was never about a one-size-fits-all approach. It was about understanding each child’s unique profile, listening deeply to families, and building supportive, realistic plans that could be sustained long-term. Through this work, I achieved a 98% success rate in helping families stabilise, move forward positively, and avoid further escalation.

These experiences have shaped my passion for providing meaningful, accessible support to the neurodivergent community. This is why I co-created altogether ND — a service designed to meet families wherever they are on their journey. Whether at the very beginning or in the midst of challenges, our aim is to offer understanding, tailored guidance, and practical support that makes a real difference.

Hi, I’m Ruth. I have 27 years experience of working with children and adults in various roles.

I have a BA Hons Degree in Professional Practice in Education where everything I studied was based around autism and I continue to read extensively around autism and neurodivergence. I have multiple other qualifications and training certificates relating to autism, ADHD, coaching, safeguarding, GDPR, nutrition, and many more.

I have been a manager of a Pre-School, a TA in a mainstream school, a HLTA in a Special School, and worked for the local authority supporting neurodivergent children and parents that were in crisis because of the challenges around living with a neurodivergence in a neurotypical world.

I am currently enjoying writing about neurodivergence and as these pieces are completed they will be published on our website. I have children and grandchildren who have challenges living in a neurotypical world. I wish I knew then what I know now as I know my children would have had a happier and healthier life growing up and would have had the strategies to support them.

As a parent I understand the challenges of daily life that parenting a neurodivergent child/children brings. As a granny I am more equipped and understand the heartache of seeing grandchildren struggle. As a neurodivergent adult I appreciate the overwhelm of juggling everyday life and I implement strategies to support myself so that I can get through the days and weeks successfully and to thrive. I would really like to share these with you if you think you would benefit from them too.
